Cambodia Gambling Halls

[ English ]

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which casino wagering is banned. Eight casinos are situated in a relatively small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime destination, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing income acquired from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a few restrictions requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; still, financing sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are allegedly needed to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort.
